Instant Pot Chicken Sloppy Joe Sliders Recipe

I wanted an easy dish I could prepare quickly before work, and Sloppy Joe sliders fit the bill. With just a can of sauce, chicken, buns, and cheese, these Instant Pot Chicken Sloppy Joe Sliders come together in no time. Only four main ingredients and 10 minutes on high pressure in the Instant Pot makes a fast, satisfying meal.

After serving a beef version previously, I decided to try chicken this time — it shredded beautifully and had a delicious, slightly different flavor that everyone enjoyed. The Instant Pot speeds up the process and makes shredding effortless. These sliders work perfectly for a speedy weeknight dinner, game-day snacks, or a simple party appetizer.

When the cook time ends, carefully perform a quick (manual) pressure release and open the lid. Shred the chicken with two forks or meat claws right in the pot so it mixes with the sauce. Spoon the shredded chicken onto buns, top with a slice of cheese or any preferred toppings, and serve warm.

Can I Make These in the Slow Cooker?

Yes. Place the chicken, the can of sloppy joe sauce, and water in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 4–6 hours (or high for 2–3 hours) until the chicken is fully cooked, then shred. If you prefer a thicker sauce, omit the water. Assemble sliders with cheese and any other desired toppings.
