Tommy Bahama’s at Mauna Lani offers a relaxed mix of covered outdoor dining and comfortable indoor seating. The restaurant was bustling when we visited, but the staff made it clear they take gluten-free needs seriously. They provide a dedicated gluten-free menu and can also prepare items not listed there upon request. If you have celiac disease, the team advised sticking to the published gluten-free menu to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. The kitchen is also able to accommodate vegetarian preferences.
Items we sampled included macadamia-crusted goat cheese paired with seasonal vegetables, a filet mignon served with a cauliflower-potato mash, and roasted seasonal vegetables featuring a cauliflower steak. Each dish highlighted local ingredients and was presented thoughtfully, with clear attention to texture and flavor balance.
The service was knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and willing to answer questions about preparation methods. Portion sizes were generous and the atmosphere—partially al fresco—made for an enjoyable meal in a lively setting.
