How to Stay Well and Avoid Illness
On October 21, 2021 I hosted a daytime live stream with my Kitchen Pioneers to talk about practical ways to stay well and reduce the risk of getting sick. Changing the stream time allowed new members to join, and we had a warm, wide-ranging conversation that included immune support, family stories, and even a few lighthearted dog anecdotes.
This replay is available to members of my YouTube membership community, The Traditional Foods Kitchen Academy, where we share deeper dives into traditional foods and home remedies.

Boosting Our Immune System to Avoid Illness
As cold and flu season approaches, it’s helpful to focus on simple, sustainable habits that support the immune system. Eating nutrient-dense traditional foods, staying hydrated, getting restorative sleep, managing stress, and having a few time-tested home remedies on hand can all make a difference. If you do get sick, traditional remedies and comforting foods can support recovery alongside guidance from your healthcare provider.
Because this topic is so important, I’m planning a three-part series for members that explores immune-supportive foods, supplements to consider, and practical recovery strategies. I’ll share links to those member videos in my YouTube Community in November so members receive notifications.
Home Remedies
Below are several approachable home remedies and traditional preparations that many people find helpful for keeping their immune systems supported or easing symptoms during a mild illness. These are shared as options to discuss with your healthcare provider and to use as supportive measures.
