Halloween and Spooky Shows Streaming on Apple TV+ This Year

Trick or Treat! Spooky season is here, and Apple TV+ has a family-friendly Halloween lineup filled with scares, laughs, and heartwarming moments.

The season includes the season two premiere of the creepy adventure series CURSES!, a Halloween special of the stop-motion favorite Shape Island, all three seasons of the mystery series Ghostwriter, and a free viewing window for the classic Peanuts special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown for non-subscribers.

Apple TV+ debuts season two of DreamWorks Animation’s adventure series CURSES! on Friday, October 4. The new season adds notable guest voices, including horror icon Robert Englund, along with James Marsters, Rhea Perlman, Phylicia Rashad, and others. Meanwhile, the Halloween-themed episode of the stop-motion series Shape Island and the full three-season run of the award-winning live-action detective series Ghostwriter are already streaming. In addition, Apple TV+ will make the beloved Peanuts special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown available to non-subscribers for free on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

“CURSES!” Season Two – Premieres Friday, October 4

DreamWorks Animation’s spooky, family-oriented adventure returns. CURSES! follows Pandora and her siblings Russ and Sky Vanderhouven, a family dealing with a centuries-old curse tied to their ancestors’ theft of ancient artifacts. After a daring quest reversed the curse and freed their father, Alex, from stone, season two begins with Alex back with the family as they continue righting wrongs caused by their forebears. But when Alex starts acting strangely, the family must unite to confront new mysteries both on the road and inside Briarstone Manor.

Season two brings back a talented voice cast: Emmy nominee Gabrielle Nevaeh, Andre Robinson, Emmy nominee Lyric Lewis, SAG Award winner Reid Scott, Rhys Darby, James Marsters, Emmy winner Rhea Perlman, Tony winner Phylicia Rashad, and Robert Englund. The series was created and executive produced by Jim Cooper and Jeff Dixon. John Krasinski also serves as an executive producer, with Allyson Seeger as co-executive producer. Leo Riley supervises production, while Chris Copeland and Justin Copeland contribute as creative consultants.

“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” – Free to Stream October 19–20

Costumes, candy, and a little childhood wonder—It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown remains a Halloween staple. Join the Peanuts gang as Charlie Brown prepares for a party, Snoopy embarks on adventures of his own, and Linus waits faithfully in hopes of a pumpkin patch miracle. Apple TV+ will offer this classic special to non-subscribers for free on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

“Shape Island” Halloween Special – Available Now

The stop-motion special “Creepy Cave Crawl” finds Triangle’s prank setting the stage for Circle and Square to celebrate Halloween on their own—full of treats and no tricks. Shape Island is a charming, funny, and thoughtful series that follows serious Square, adventurous Circle, and mischievous Triangle as they search for answers, build friendship, and learn to appreciate one another’s differences. The show celebrates how friendship can take many shapes.

The series features voices from Gideon Adlon, Scott Adsit, Harvey Guillén, and Yvette Nicole Brown. Shape Island was co-created by authors Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen, who executive produce alongside Kelli Bixler and Drew Hodges of Bix Pix Entertainment. Ryan Pequin serves as co-executive producer and head writer.

“Ghostwriter” – All Three Seasons Streaming Now

Ghostwriter follows a group of friends who discover a ghost haunting a neighborhood bookstore that releases fictional characters into the real world. The team must solve the mystery of the ghost’s unfinished business, with each story arc centered on literature. Episodes highlight classics like L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web, alongside new works by contemporary authors.

The Emmy Award-winning series, which has also earned honors such as the Prix Jeunesse and a Parents’ Choice Gold Medal, was developed for television by J.J. Johnson and Andrew Orenstein. Luke Matheny and Andrew Orenstein executive produce with Johnson, Christin Simms, and Blair Powers for Sinking Ship Entertainment, and Kay Wilson Stallings for Sesame Workshop.
