Ingredients

  • 2
    tbsp
    salted butter
    melted
  • 2
    tbsp
    maple syrup
  • 1
    tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2
    tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1
15 oz canned pear halves in juice, drained*
  • Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until combined. Gently add the drained pear halves and turn them to coat evenly with the mixture. Allow the pears to sit in the glaze for about 5 minutes so they absorb some flavor.
  2. Arrange the pear halves in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cut side facing up. Avoid overcrowding — work in batches if needed. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes to warm and begin softening the pears.
  3. Spoon any remaining butter-maple mixture over the pear halves, then increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (200°C). Cook for an additional 2 to 6 minutes until the edges caramelize and develop a slightly crisp, golden finish. Because air fryer models vary, check the pears at one-minute intervals toward the end to prevent burning.
  4. Serve the warm air-fried pears over Greek yogurt for breakfast or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Drizzle any pan juices over the top for extra flavor. Enjoy immediately.

Recipe Notes

*If you have leftover pear syrup or juice from the can, save it and use it to flavor smoothies, stir into yogurt, or dilute with sparkling water for a lightly sweetened drink. The juice adds pear flavor and reduces waste.

Tips: For added texture, sprinkle chopped toasted nuts, granola, or a pinch of sea salt on top before serving. To make a spiced variation, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the butter mixture. If you prefer less sweetness, reduce the maple syrup to 1 tablespoon.

Storage: Store any leftover air-fried pears in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the air fryer or microwave until warm before serving.
